PAC's Clay Studio’s purpose is to educate those in our community and surrounding areas about the wonderful world of clay and give potters a place to call their own!  

The Clay Studio is a safe, efficient, and inspirational place where everyone can explore potting skills such as wheel-throwing, hand-building or sculpting....and all at a very affordable price. We want to make clay available to potters of all ages and experience levels.  The Clay Studio consists of two classrooms, one for hand building and one for wheel throwing.  Our brand new Multi-Purpose classroom is used for hand building and has ample space available.  The RC Sims Clay Lab is dedicated to the memory of "Doc" Sims and features our nine electric wheels and is used for wheel throwing classes.  Check out our clay classes offered in studio by following these links: Teens & Adult classes, Children classes.

Becoming a Clay Studio Member:

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Must be a current member of the Parkersburg Art Center

  • Must have previously taken a class (Wheel Throwing or Hand Building) or private lesson with one of our studio instructors

  • Must contact the studio to set up a tour

Private Painting and Pottery Parties

The Parkersburg Art Center offers private painting or pottery parties. These are perfect for team building, a staff retreat, gatherings with friends, celebratory events, and birthdays. With a minimum of five participants, we can bring your creative event to life—just email info@parkersburgartcenter.org with your request. Please start making those plans AT LEAST three weeks in advance so we can schedule an instructor!
